Aroma Festival at The Rocks, Sydney Australia 2016
Well the Aroma Festival certainly can pull a crowd. Sydney residents really have a serious caffeine challenge, with the chilly weather the lines to get a cup of coffee was long. I just managed one cup, still want to go to sleep tonight.
Also, I was hosting a Sydney Street Photographers Meetup as well. The public trains had a scheduled maintenance, it nearly threw off my plans to be there on time. It doesn't look good if the host turning up late for a Meetup especially first time hosting the event on behave of the organiser. Luckily for me I managed to get to the Meetup location on time.
There were some new photographers joining the group and some old ones. I had about 16 RSVPs on the Meetup site and roughly 12-14 people turn up which was a very high percentage. Usually we get around 30%.
Thank you for the Sydney Street Photographers that turned up today, it certainly makes my job easier as a host. I felt a little pressured when we start heading to The Rocks as I was now a senior shooter and there was beginner followed along. It certainly restricted my usual self when I'm out looking for photographs. But this was my first time and if I didn't have some butterflies in me then there certainly a real problem. I'll learn and get better next time.
The fascinating thing about coffee making was on display at the main stage. The skills involved was extraordinary. I learnt to appreciate the art now once I have witnessed the making process first hand. Congratulations to the winner of this year challenge. It certainly open up my eyes and I have totally new respect when I have a coffee from now on.
